Gold Deposits in Chile

چکیده

A review of gold and bearing base metals deposits in Chile, indicate the existence at least six different type ore deposits, most largely formed during Cenozoic with predominance Miocene. Mesozoic are common but less relevant regarding their size content. These hydrothermal genetically associated subduction related Andean arc magmatism. Due to its relationship episodic magmatism migrating eastward, there is a tendency for be distinct, north-south trending, belts progressive west east decrease mineralization age. After analysing 82 cases total, main concentration can assigned high-sulfidation epithermal porphyry deposits. Low-sulfidation epithermal, IOCG mesothermal appears as relevant. Gold copper constitute an important part Chile’s total production. Both especially will remain substantial source supplement future output country. The tonnage grade studied, represent content 11,662 t equivalent 375 Moz, excluding past production those exploited. number probable high (IOCG copper) do not include public format, hence delivered could estimated conservative. Methodical geochronological, types zonation studies required better appreciate this metallogenic setting widening current understanding exploration results.

Natural gold particles in Eucalyptus leaves and their relevance to exploration for buried gold deposits

Eucalyptus trees may translocate Au from mineral deposits and support the use of vegetation (biogeochemical) sampling in mineral exploration, particularly where thick sediments dominate. However, biogeochemistry has not been routinely adopted partly because biotic mechanisms of Au migration are poorly understood. For example, although Au has been previously measured in plant samples, there has ...

Sediment-hosted, Disseminated Gold Deposits Related to Alkalic

This paper describes occurrences of low grade, disseminated gold in sedimentary rocks and alkalic intrusions in the vicinity of the Howell Creek Structure (HCS; Price,1964) of southeastern British Columbia. The study is part of the B.C. Geological Survey’s ongoing Sediment-hosted Gold Project, which is examining occurrences throughout the province which may have similarities to gold deposits in...
